Dave Kerchner

David Lee “Crazy Dave” Kerchner, 67, of Belvidere, IL died peacefully surrounded by family October 8, 2020 in Belvidere, IL. He was born June 23, 1953 in Rochelle, IL to William Lee and Joan Lee (Klinefelter) Kerchner. He married his sweetheart, Linda Mayberry August 19, 1973 in Garden Prairie, IL. David graduated high school in Belvidere and worked for 30 years at CamCar as a Roll Thread Operator. He was also employed by Waste Management at DeKalb County Landfill.

David had a larger than life presence and a great sense of humor. He enjoyed very much driving around town and visiting folks along the way. You would often see him on his scooter, spreading his lively energy to everyone he met. He loved to supervise the local farmers, collecting toy tractors and attending garage sales.  There were two things David was fond of, food and family! He will be dearly missed.

David is loved by his wife, Linda; sons, Heath (Mary) and Shane (Kelly); grandchildren, Ivory, Rayne, Emma and Corbyn.

He is survived by his parents; two sisters; and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by one brother.
